MatriKX CTO, 2.50" X 9.75 Extruded Carbon Block Filter. "The Workhorse"
Basic Description: High capacity carbon block filter. Radial Flow. Rated for >90% chlorine reduction of 3750 gallons of water at 1.0 gpm. flow rate. No rating for chloroform reduction. Not rated for lead or cyst reduction. Often used for solvent reduction.
This is a very effective chlorine removal filter and a great taste/odor enhancer. It has excellent dirt-holding capacity and an excellent 10 micron sediment filter. It has great flow properties which make it a good choice as a reverse osmosis pre-filter.
Pressure Drop: 2.0 psid @ 1.0 gpm.
Carbon Type and Weight: Bituminous Coal. 0.75 lbs.

General Usage Recommendation: Can be used in undersink filters, especially multiple filters. Excellent and as pre- or post- filter in reverse osmosis units. This is a workhorse filter that gives long, excellent performance at a very low price.
Suggested Change Interval with Normal Usage: Change once a year in most applications. May be run longer when accompanied by other long-range cartridges in double or triple filters.
