Our cartridges are arranged by size. Each size category in the Cartridge Menu below provides a link (click on the picture) to our full offerings in that size category. To repeat, they are arranged by size, not by purpose, style or color of vessel, or manufacturer. Here’s a picture to help with size comparison (click picture for larger view). The numbers represent inches. It features the most popular sizes that we offer. Keep in mind that sizes may vary slightly—especially the diameter. 4.25" can mean anything from 4 1/4" to 4 1/2". Go by size, not by shape. A water filter that accepts a 9.75 x 2.5 axial cartridge (the blue cartridge in the picture) will also accept a 9.75 x 2.5 radial cartridge. You don’t have to replace your filter cartridge with the exact cartridge that came in it when it was new. The great thing about having a standard-sized water filter is that you have many optional cartridges to select from. It is essentially a drinking water size, though some discount store manufacturers use this size in inexpensive whole house filters. Virtually every cartridge manufacturer makes a few cartridges in this size. At left is a carbon block. We also have axial flow cartridges (like the blue cartridge in the picture above), sediment (wound string, spun polypropylene, etc.) cartridges, ceramic cartridges, and cartridges with specialty media in this style. Standard-sized 20" X 2.5" cartridgesThis is a favorite size of makers of light-duty whole-house filters both for sediment and chemical removal.
