Removing Fluoride

Finding products that remove fluoride on this website

  1. 1. Reverse Osmosis. The best way to remove fluoride from drinking water is reverse osmosis. Any good reverse osmosis unit removes about 95% of fluoride by its nature. No special filters or setup is needed. See our undersink reverse osmosis units and countertop reverse osmosis units.
  2. Enhanced Performance Undersink Fluoride Filter. The second best way to remove fluoride from drinking water is with our unique enhanced performance fluoride filter, which features an extra slow pass through Activated Alumina to maximize fluoride reduction. The unit comes standard with our two best carbon block filters for superb city-water treatment. It’s a unique product that you won’t find anywhere else.
  3. Undersink Filters. You can get our double, triple, and quadruple undersink filters with an activated alumina cartridge for fluoride removal. There’s no extra charge for selecting the fluoride option. See our Black and White undersink units. We also have a hybrid version of the Multi-Pure VOC, in which we add an activated alumina stage to a standard commercial undersink Multi-Pure unit.
  4. Countertop Filters. A double countertop filter is required for good fluoride reduction performance because one full canister needs to be devoted to fluoride removal. Get our double version of our standard-sized countertop for excellent fluoride performance. For our standard single canister countertop, Model 77, we have only one fluoride option, and it isn’t one we recommend strongly. You can purchase Model 77 with the optional CFX cartridge (FC007), but performance is limited and you should replace it frequently.

Note: Reverse Osmosis needs no special equipment to remove fluoride. Fluoride removal is achieved in all of the undersink and double countertop units above by a high quality activated alumina cartridge. The cartridge, our part number FC011, can be ordered separately from our filter cartridge menu. It will fit any housing that accepts standard 9.75" X 2.5" cartridges, so it can be easily added to most existing undersink filters. And if it doesn’t fit your existing housing, it can be easily added as an Add-On unit to almost any undersink or refrigerator filter.

Fluoride removal with a cartridge like FC011 requires a slow pass of the water through the filter, so we don’t recommend the FC011 for simple undersink filters that filter all water coming from the existing cold water faucet.
