Single Undersink Filter

We prefer this free-standing design for single undersink filters because they’re easier to install and easier to service than wall-mounted models. However, if you prefer a wall-mounted style, we’ll provide one for the same price.

The unit pictured comes with filter cartridge, inlet valve, ledge faucet, filter wrench, and any refrigerator hook-up fittings you request. It features John Guest push-in fittings for very easy installation. Both inlet valve and faucet have tubing attached for very easy installation and leak-free performance.

Standard cartridge—what you get if you don’t specify otherwise—is the MatriKX-1, a tight and effective extruded carbon block that’s great at chlorine and general chemical removal. It’s also a great taste/odor enhancer.

Suggested alternates—which you can have at no additional cost just by requesting them, are:

MatriKX PB-1. A high quality carbon block filter that’s also rated for lead and cryptosporidium/giardia reduction.

KDC1.5 : This is a tough DiTech cartridge that consists of 1.5 pounds of KDF specialty medium and granular activated carbon. It is the equivalent of the cartridge used in many of the long-lasting “miracle filters” sold for $200 or so. It has a long lifespan and is a good all-around chemical filter, an excellent chlorine remover, and a great filter for lead and heavy metals.
