How To Operate Pure Water Products' Style C Siphon Adapter

Our Style C Adapter comes with all the parts necessary to work as an independent carbon filter or to work as an auxiliary to our Style A or Style B systems.

Don't let its simplicity fool you. It's a pretty versatile gadget. The two John Guest Plug-In Elbows can be removed from the tubing. Examine the illustration below:

To release the tubing, push in on the collet and retract the tubing. To reinsert, push in until the tube hits bottom. Either the tubing or the stem on the elbow can be inserted into the ends of the Omnipure filter. This allows great versatility and gives you either a straight fitting or an elbow on each end of the filter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The white plastic tubes that protrude from the ends of the Omnipure filter are simply to protect the filter. Remove them by simply pulling them out before using the filter.

To Use the filter as an Independent carbon filter. (Suggested use: Chlorinated stored water or chlorinated swimming pool water.) Soak the filter thoroughly in the water to be filtered. You may need to hold it under water with as weight until the inner carbon is thoroughly soaked. Then insert a tube into each end of the filter and, observing the directional arrows, place the "In" tube in the water to be filtered, suck through the out tube until you get water in your mouth, then lower the out tube to allow water to flow into a receiving container. If siphoning doesn't continue the first time, repeat until it does. The receiving container must be lower than the inlet container. Experiment with height differential until you find an arrangement that gives optimal flow. DISCARD THE FIRST GALLON OR SO OF WATER the first time the filter is used, or if it has been inactive for some time.

To use the filter with Style A or Style B. (For use with water that needs chemical removal or taste/odor improvement after filtration through a ceramic filter.) Simply start Style A or Style B according to instructions, then insert the product water tube from the Style A or Style B unit into the "In" tube of the of the Omnipure filter. Place the "Out" tube of the Omnipure downhill and water will eventually begin to flow out of it. There is no need to presoak the Omnipure in this case, but you will need to discard the first gallon or so of water to assure that the filter is thoroughly rinsed the first time you use it.
