The best way to filter water for a clothes washer is to filter it before it reaches the hot water heater. This offers many filtering options that hot water won’t allow. However, if it is not possible to filter water before it’s heated, here’s a solution.

Out hot water washer filter will protect your washer and your clothing from particulate such as dirt, sand, and rust from pipes. It handles hot water, even under high pressure, and the special steel-spooled 5 micron sediment cartridge is manufactured to withstand high temperatures that destroy plastic-based filter cartridges.

Note: The unit you get may be slightly different in appearance. This is what our current high temperature housing looks like.

Hot Water Filter

The heavy duty filter housing at right is specially manufactured to handle high pressures and hot water. We’ve equipped it with male hose fittings, which allow attachment to standard washer hoses. All you need to install it are two standard washer hoses with female fittings at both ends. It can wall mount or stand behind a standard washer. The housing is rated for temperatures to 200˚ F (93˚ C).

Housing size is 12.5" tall by 4.5" diameter.

Cartridges for Hot Water Unit:

Special steel-mounted 5-micron wound string sediment cartridges: $9 each, with 10% discount for two, and 15% discount for three or more. We pay shipping. These cartridges are rated for temperatures to 200˚ F (93˚ C).

Note: The vessel pictured at right actually has a female inlet fitting. If you buy it as a washer filter, it will have two male fittings, like the hot water unit above.

Cold Water Filter

A standard vessel will take care of the cold water feed for your washer. The cold water vessel and cartridges for it cost less. Housing size is 12" tall and 4.5" diameter.
